Patterns

Coffs Harbour 2007

I believe that in life, there are certain patterns that exist. And within these patterns, people can be certain of how things will be like, how it will happen, or what will happen. So much so that we might become comfortable with it all, since there would not be any surprises. That is alright if one still believes in improving themselves and grow as a person. But when complacency steps in, that’s a different story altogether.

Then again, life can get boring if it’s always the same pattern isn’t it? That is why, when possible, step out of your comfort zone, step out of the pattern, and create something new! I believe that some spontaneity and creativity does make life a little more interesting and fun!

A Pebbled Life

Coffs Harbour 2007

A pebble lying on the sands of the beach can be liken to a memory of events in your life. Hence, a pebble that you choose to pick will then be like the memory that you choose to keep in life. So, do you stamp you life with the good lovely memories? Or do choose to pick up those with the bitter lingering thoughts?

In my life, the wonderful memories matter to me more so than the sad ones. Thus, it can be said that I’ll always throw the sad-pebbled memory aside after my experiences with them. Yet, throwing them aside does not mean that I did not learn my lessons at all. Instead, I’ll pick those pebbles up, imprint it upon my sand of memories in an area where I ensure that they would never be washed away by the waves, and then throw them back into the sea. So while I choose to only keep the good and joyous memories, aka the ‘good’ pebbles lying around in my sand of memories, those sad and bitter ones will always be imprinted in my mind, reminding me of the lessons that I have learnt back then to become a stronger and better person that I am now.

Just you and me.

So remember that friends are forever.
